12 months out Research the area. Every township in Montgomery has a different tax rate, school district, and community feel. Know what matters to your family before you start scrolling Zillow.

6 to 9 months out Get connected with an agent and a VA-approved lender. Pre-approval isn't just paperwork it's your competitive edge when you're ready to make an offer.

36 months out Active search. I do virtual tours and video walkthroughs regularly for buyers who are still stationed elsewhere. Remote offers are completely standard.

For families at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Montgomery is a solid commute option especially if the schools and community environment are priorities.
